Welcome
From Crisis to Care - A New Model for Georgia's Kids
Transforming Foster Care with Heart, Home and Healing.
Transforming Foster Care with Heart, Home and Healing.
What if we told you that Georgia could save $35 million—while finally giving foster children the care and dignity they deserve?
What if kids no longer had to sleep in hotels, police stations, or DFCS offices, waiting for a place to call home?
Imagine a space that feels less like a system and more like a sanctuary.
A place where children receive warm, homemade meals… attend an on-site school designed to help them catch up, not fall behind… and have daily access to behavioral therapy that helps them heal, grow, and hope again.
But that’s just the beginning.
What happens when they start gardening, painting, playing sports, cooking, and learning real-life skills that set them up for long-term success?
What if—just what if—we could show these children a brighter future?
Curious?
Let us show you how Atlanta Respite for Kids is changing everything.
And What About Siblings?
Too often, entering foster care means losing not just your home—but your brother or sister too.
At Atlanta Respite for Kids, we’re changing that. Our model is designed to keep siblings together, under one roof, in a safe and nurturing environment that feels like family. Because we know the bond between siblings can be a lifeline—especially when everything else has been taken away.
They eat together, learn together, play together, and heal together.
They stay connected to the one piece of their world that still feels familiar.
Can you imagine what that kind of stability can do for a child’s heart?
At Atlanta Respite for Kids, we believe life skills are foundational—not extras. Simple things like how to answer a phone, greet someone at the door, cook a meal, or do a load of laundry are essential to becoming confident, independent adults.
Many of our children never had the chance to learn these things—not because they didn’t want to, but because no one showed them how. Most of us learned by watching the adults around us. Our kids deserve that too.
That’s why we make it a priority to model and practice with them these real-world skills every day. Whether it’s helping set the table, staying organized, or learning how to be respectful and kind, these lessons are woven into the fabric of our daily life together.
We're not just caring for children—we’re preparing them for a successful future, one small step at a time.
A safe place to be a kid!
