Our Vision for the Future: A Home Built to Last
Our future facility will be a state-of-the-art building designed with sustainability in mind—featuring green building practices and constructed from durable Concrete Form Blocks (CFM). Built to last, this new space will allow us to serve 30 children daily, compared to just 3 today—a 1000%+ increase in capacity.
But this isn’t just about space. It’s about rescuing children who are currently spending nights in hotels, DFCS offices, or police stations—not because they’ve done anything wrong, but because there’s simply nowhere else for them to go.
By building this facility, we can offer these children a warm, consistent, and healing environment while also saving the state of Georgia an estimated $35 million annually. The state, in turn, would support an ongoing $5 million annual budget, allowing this innovative model of care to operate 7 days a week and deliver real, long-term impact.
Key Features of the New ARK Facility:
- An on-site school tailored to the unique needs of foster children, helping close educational gaps with trauma-informed instruction
- A dormitory for college students in their final semesters of Social Work or Behavioral Therapy programs—providing them rent-free housing in exchange for hands-on service
- Nutritious, home-cooked meals every day to support physical health, emotional regulation, and a sense of comfort and routine
- Daily behavioral therapy to help children process trauma, build emotional resilience, and begin their healing journey
- A home-like atmosphere with structured support, enrichment activities, and loving care—open and operating 7 days a week
- Collaboration with DFCS, local law enforcement, and community partners to create a coordinated network of care
