Future Home of Atlanta Respite for Kids

Our future place would be a building with many green incentive ideas and made from CFM (Concrete Form Blocks).  Built to last, this new place would be able to serve more than 300% of what we do now.  Also with this building, we are in a position to always say yes to kids that need a place to stay while waiting for placement.

What started as a small decision to help foster parents who serve everyday turned into a dream of one day helping more kids in a home like environment while waiting for placement.  I spent the first 3 years pouring out my heart, soul and pocket book to make our current home ready for some great kids that just need a chance!

Half way through, I caught this image in my dreams and drew this up.  To give you prospective, this building will help kids, two families, volunteers, Dept. of Family and Children's Services and all local police precincts even outside of our county.  There are two family suites that are live in so that their families can serve at the ARK while one of the them can make some money and save it for a home or  mission support. 

We would like to have a dorm like area for for people in college studying to become Georgia's future case workers.  While they go to school, they could live here rent free and donate their time on a scheduled weekly basis.  

The one or two families that stay at the ARK are vetted for need, support for the direction they wish to take their lives, how they can help at the ARK and still have a member of their family working to save.  We want to come alongside these families to help strength their families while they are working alongside us with the kids at the ARK.

Also, the program would now be able to run 7 days a week and not just the weekends.  Phase 1 & Phase 2 would be in full swing.  And that is because you helped us achieve our goals...You are one of the family now.
